The Global Electrification Platform Manager is responsible the global co-ordination, delivery and product planning of an electrified powertrain system product family. The Platform Manager globally manages and co-ordinates product activities through a cross functional team that includes Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Finance. Activities that are managed within their scope include product studies, product development, product launch, business case evaluation, cost reductions, supplier strategies, process improvements, resource management, etc. The Platform Manager is responsible for ensuring that their electrified platform family of products meets all functional objectives with on time delivery while surpassing the expectations of the customer. The individual will interface with all levels of the Powertrain Extended Team. In addition, the candidate will communicate regularly with Vice Presidents and Directors within the FCA organization, develop and present program status updates, and articulate open issues to Senior Leadership. The Platform Manager will also manage in-plant launch support and collaborate with the Design and Manufacturing Teams during each build phase to ensure their electrified powertrain platform is prepared for each vehicle line.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Single point contact for all powertrain related activities associated with their electrified powertrain platform
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the Platform Team
    • Platform Team Meetings
    • Joint Change Review Chair
    • Purchasing Interface
    • Supplier Quality Interface
    • Plant Launch Readiness
    • Product Engineering Interface
    • Plant Manufacturing Interface
  • Must work collectively with the Chief Engineer responsible for overall program delivery
  • Facilitate Key Supplier Reviews
  • Manage Quality and Cost Reduction Activities
  • Support planning and marketing activities for their product line
  • Present findings to Senior Leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university 
  • Minimum 10 years work experience within Quality, Engineering, or Manufacturing 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks 
  • Highly proficient in written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team 
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite software 
  • Creative problem solving ability and oriented towards delivering results
  • Ability to travel periodically

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree related to Engineering/Manufacturing 
  • Green Belt or Black Belt skills (Red X/Shainin) 
  • Quality Certification 
  • Program Management Certification 
  • Familiar with automotive product development process (CPCP and GPD within FCA)
