The Driveline Systems Design/Requirements Engineer is responsible for creating vehicle function documents (VFs) which contain high level requirements for various Powertrain systems. The position will include working with and managing DFMEAs and DVPs for the specified systems, which will drive for Best in Class System development. The person must be able to engage with a wide range of individuals including, but not limited to: Vehicle Integration, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, and Software Engineering teams. The Driveline Systems Engineer shall document the high level system interaction between components where the drivetrain control module is primarily responsible for the function.

  • Perform software beta checkout of these algorithms using hardware-in-the-loop and on the vehicle
  • Establish and execute design verification plans for control logic development. Conduct design failure mode effects analysis for control logic changes
  • Support driveline hardware improvements and cost reduction efforts through control logic development
  • Support driveline calibration efforts by contributing to calibration guide development

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or Applied Physics
  • Minimum of 2 years engineering experience in any of the following: Engineering Systems Design, Engineering Controls Design, or Validation of Automotive Systems
  • Familiar with vehicle electrical systems, CAN communications, and architectures
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Controls or software engineering experience
  • Sensor and actuator knowledge including component DFMEAs and DVPs
