Functioning as a member of the digital manufacturing team, Digital Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing business cases and managing projects related to digital manufacturing. The digital manufacturing projects will support the various manufacturing engineering departments. The projects will include FCA PLM software customization solutions and implementation. The successful candidate works with internal FCA manufacturing engineers and manufacturing information technology departments. In addition, the Engineer will work with major external software and manufacturing suppliers. The person in this position will gain experience as part of a team responsible for leveraging the 3D digital factory models for other business applications. The team is responsible for the visualization of 3D assemblies to be used by other manufacturing areas such as process planning and product feasibility.
Additional job responsibilities:
  • Develop best practices for FCA PLM software (Teamcenter)
  • Ensure adequate training for new FCA custom solutions deployed in manufacturing engineering
  • Develop security protocols for Manufacturing Engineering data
  • Development of reports to quantify the status of digital manufacturing data
  • Facilitate collaboration across different manufacturing groups. Involvement with World Class Technology (digital manufacturing pillar)
  • Development of 3D libraries and storage locations
  • Identify and implement solutions to facilitate the use of data across manufacturing areas

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years' experience in digital manufacturing
  • Project Management experience
  • Proficient in PLM software
  • Experience with digital modeling software (CAD) or simulation software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, technical and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-starter/results-oriented individual who works well in a team and in different environments 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree 
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering strongly desired but will also consider a degree in a related field 
  • 5+ years' experience in digital manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter
