The Diesel Product Engineer is responsible for the overall design, development, verification, and release of diesel engines in future model year truck vehicles. The Diesel Product Engineer will manage all aspects of the application and utilize his/her experience in diesel engine technology, design, and development to ensure the seamless integration of engine and vehicle. Introduce vehicles with world class noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), drivability, performance and fuel economy characteristics on aggressive development time-lines. The Diesel Product Engineer will manage warranty and act proactively and reactively to address quality matters.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 2 years automotive industry experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of internal combustion engine (diesel preferred) experience in any combination of engine, transmission, controls, vehicle adaptation or NVH design and/or development
  • Ability to present program updates, status reports, issue resolution plans and similar in higher level management meetings
  • Understanding and application of Quality Design documents: Engine Functional Attributes requirements, Engine/Vehicle Interface requirement, DFMEA (hardware, software and calibration) and DVP&R (hardware, software and calibration) systems
  • Professional verbal/written communication skills
  • MS Office tools and capable of a broad scope of responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • Good understanding of FCA systems and processes
  • Experience working internationally with a team comprised of stakeholders from multiple regions
  • Experience managing the technical elements of a program with a broad scope
