The Development Lead (DL) -- Base Radio Head Unit Expert will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers in the development of Uconnect Organization. The responsibilities include the development on radio hardware and software design and making certain team adheres to design best practices, quality, cost, and weight efficient designs that meet program objectives. This includes in developing and maintaining DFMEA's, DVP&R's, Compliance Reports, Owner's Manual, Performance Standards and Process Standards. The candidate will be interfacing with multiple departments and will be coordinating requirements between NAFTA and EMEA within EE Systems, HMI and PDO.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive electrical / electronic system development
  • In-Depth Knowledge of Audio Systems and regulatory compliance specifications required
  • In-Depth Knowledge of development testing and validation processes desired
  • Track record of strong leadership
  • Must be self-directed with the desire to take on visible leadership role within Uconnect Engineering
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required to support design/development process and being the face of FCA NAFTA in the Infotainment industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Functional use of internal FCA systems (CN, EBOM, ECIMS, etc.)
  • Two or more years' experience with complete vehicle cycle development
  • Shainin and/or DFSS Black Belt experience
  • Experience in EE Systems requirements development and change management
  • Experience in Controller Area Network (CAN) and Local Interconnect Network (LIN) and associated tools
  • Experience with FCA Electrical/Electronics Development Plan (EEDP)
  • Experience in infotainment aspects such as: Audio/Video generation, USB, Wireless protocols, APP development
