Development Lead - Electrical Energy Management Systems, Energy Storage and application Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Development Lead will be required to manage the development of several electrical and mechanical components and will lead the EEM team Define storage devices and requirements for 12 Volt systems (up to 48V), prepare and manage standardization plans for Thermal Insulators, provide System support for Benchmark/FO competitive vehicles activity, develop / Lead DFMEA/DVP for charging and cranking systems, work with PT team to optimize systems for fuel efficiency, ESS / Smart Charge, work with industry leaders to develop and implement new high efficiency generation and storage devices like HED/ULL/SAR alternators, L-ion batteries, Ultra Capacitors. The selected candidate will support, define and document Hot/Cold Trip procedures for system validation, define and document the drive cell procedures for system validation, schedule and lead the Hot & Cold Trip validation events, correlate system performance from hot/cold trip events and drive cell tests and will manage the activity to validate system changes using drive cell tests, and will manage the team to diagnose cranking and charging systems issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
  • A minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience
  • Able to lead team in root cause analysis and manage development projects by meeting deliverables on time with high quality
  • Word processing / Spread sheet/ data base/ presentation proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Knowledge of electric motors
  • Starters and alternators
  • Excellent technical, Communication, and leadership skills
