The Development Lead candidate will be responsible for the development and release of several automotive energy components. The candidate will prepare and manage standardization plans for alternators, starters, batteries, VSM, IBS, Inverters, develop / Lead Core DFMEA / DVP for EM components and work with powertrain to implement new high efficiency generation and storage devices like HED/ULL/SAR alternators, L-ion batteries, Ultra Capacitors. The Candidate will ensure Lessons Learned are captured and rolled back into the specifications / DFMEA provide coaching to Engineers, manage new / young engineers to ensure they are properly trained lead TCR activities with the cost group review all DVP's prior to submission to the supervisor for review initial / final CCD's and IAA's and support hot and cold trips.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
  • Working knowledge of automotive electrical systems and components
  • Minimum 10 years related engineering experience
  • Good leadership, communications, (written and oral), technical skills a must
  • Working knowledge of vehicle charging and cranking systems
  • DFMEA DVP&R experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Knowledge of Alternators, starters, batteries, electric motors and automotive electronics
