The Design Responsible (Manager) Body Exterior Vision is responsible for managing a team of engineers that are responsible for the design and development of front and rear wiper/washer systems, fixed glass, fuel doors, interior rear view mirrors and cowl screens for all FCA vehicles - globally. The Design Responsible Body Exterior Vision Engineer must have a proven track record of electro-mechanical integration into vehicle systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of design/release experience in automotive body, wipers/washer's systems, functional plastics, interior mirrors
  • Minimum of 10 years of automotive engineering experience
  • Program management experience
  • Supplier management experience
  • Prior experience leading large groups
  • Demonstrated accountability meeting goals and program deliverables
  • Green Belt in DFSS
  • Green Belt in reactive problem solving

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or MBA
  • Black Belt/Green Belt in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
  • Experience with class A surface design
  • Attachment/fastener design experience
  • Mold flow analysis
  • CAE/CAD design knowledge/experience
  • Configuration and complexity management
  • Ability to lead, coach, make tough calls
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present to upper management
  • Excellent root cause analysis skills (Shainin Green Belt or Black Belt desired)
  • DFMEA and DVPR fluency
  • Fluent in MS Office Suite
  • Basic EE design development (Electromechanical) experience
  • GD&T and locating schemes experience
