The Cold End Exhaust-Design Release Engineer will be responsible to design, develop and release cold end exhaust systems to support one or more vehicle lines for all powertrain combinations and brand differentiation requirements. The Engineer will obtain system and component functional objectives for durability, NVH and back pressure, while meeting cost, weight and investment targets and communization of subcomponents. Perform tasks that include: Developing system DVPR, DFMEA and function models; incorporate Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) best practices when releasing system performance specifications; and drawings and system validation. The Engineer will be required to interact with suppliers, manufacturing plants, purchasing and cross functional engineering groups.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Degree from an ABET Accredited University (or equivalent)
  • All experience levels considered
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated effective teamwork abilities
  • Attention to details
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six months minimum experience in Exhaust System Design and Development releasing activity
  • Green/black belt in Shainin or DFSS desirable
  • Knowledge of Chrysler systems and/or products a plus
  • MSME or related Engineering Degree from an ABET Accredited University (or equivalent)
  • NX CAD and/or Team Center Skills
  • Ability to read drawings and understand and apply GD&T
  • Experience in Design, Releasing and Development of Automotive Components through launch phase
  • Understanding of Exhaust Systems and/or background with Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) desired
  • Experience with Advance Quality tools such as DFSS, DFMEA, DVPR, and Function Models
  • Familiar with Vehicle Assembly processes
