The Conveyor Controls Engineer is responsible for the governance of the Manufacturing Engineering General Assembly (MEGA) Conveyor Specification as well as continuous improvement projects to optimize machine operation in the plant. Additionally, the scope of this position will span the core functions of MEGA Conveyors. The Engineer duties include, but not limited to, specifying, planning, overseeing controls design, inductive and conductive power distribution, control panel fabrication, manage field wiring, commissioning conveyor and installation. The person in this position must demonstrate excellent experience with process sequence development, equipment risk assessment and equipment/automation troubleshoot and failure Root Cause Analysis. The Conveyor Controls Engineer will support the launch manager in all aspects of project management and must possess a positive attitude, be willing to learn, work well as part of a team and be flexible in assignments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of controls engineering experience
  • Experience with conveyor controls design and startup support for conveyor systems (skillets, power and free, overhead monorail, skid systems, friction drive system and flattop)
  • Proficient in PLC5, Control Logix, device net, Ethernet controls, Rockwell HMI, VFD's and associated software applications
  • Knowledge of electrical schematic design, controls engineering, PLC programming and network management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Access, Outlook and SQL)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional groups (Product Design, Purchasing and Manufacturing)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technical field
  • Advanced degree
  • Experience with Siemens/PNet and HMI
