The Controls Planning ME Engineering Manager works with manufacturing, maintenance, various engineering groups nationally and internationally, finance and purchasing. Leads the development of new and revise existing processes, controls and robot specifications, machine and automation equipment design that meets WCM and WCT methodology. Controls process planning for current and future programs. The selected candidate will have direct supervision of controls specialists and managers including the ability to manage within UAW contract requirements. Maintain and improve controls MQAS requirements. Provide engineering support, develop standard programming software, develop OEM's and controls suppliers, support controls program execution and non-new model activities for Manufacturing Plants. As well as, support and lead activities that supports the WCT methodology.

 Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience required
  • 5 years of experience in programming PLC/HMI/CNC and Fanuc Robot controllers
  • Lead the development and design of controls software and hardware for new equipment, providing technical support and improve equipment for the Powertrain and manufacturing organization
  • Must be self-directed, and motivated to implement change within the department
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to travel worldwide and interface with powertrain plants and suppliers when required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction (Self Motivated)
  • Strong written/oral communication
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of management
  • Excellent people skills and able to work within a team
  • Ability to function in platform and team settings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • PLC/HMI/CNC/PC Programming -- Siemens, Fanuc, Rockwell and Mitsubishi controls
  • Robotics (Fanuc), Machining and Assembly lines as well as Automation Experience
  • Experience in electrical panel and machine design with AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Projects, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook experience are required
