The Cloud Platform Engineer will help to define technology standards and cloud roadmap, including full life-cycle of solution, compliance measurement, and improvement initiatives. He/she will support Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives by documenting business case and actively participating and implementing the evaluation; based upon POC results, revise valuation as appropriate to support potential adoption and advance innovation agenda by identifying solutions and applicable opportunities within cloud technology domains. The selected candidate will understand relevant cloud services, design, implement, and support standard cloud technology solutions to address business or technology gaps, and support advancement of emerging technology.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Certifying cloud solution components, and working within a team to design and develop standard delivery patterns
  • Implement a complimentary continuous improvement process to periodically evaluate and adjust design standards for cloud solutions as required
  • Provide Portfolio/Project Management support; support Solution Architects and PM teams as required; proactively communicating and teaching Solution Architects on technology building blocks, including when/how to leverage (and when/how to not)
  • Develop workflows for automation tools within on premise and off-premise cloud delivery models
  • Work with traditional infrastructure teams to implement solutions that leverage existing investments in directory services, security, monitoring, backups, and etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, telecommunications, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years information technology experience, including architecture and design experience with cloud platforms and software defined datacenter platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Cloud Service models
  • Experience working within a hybrid cloud deployment model
  • Experience with automating server builds or cloud solutions using infrastructure as code
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google GCP
  • Experience with public cloud portal administration and resource automation
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as: Puppet, Chef, GitHub, or Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience implementing software defined datacenter architectures (including storage, network, and compute) and infrastructure as code
  • Able to work and interact with others in a structured/team environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, must have organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify risks and establish priorities in a high energy environment
  • Good organization, communication, and process improvement skills
