The Chassis Quality System Engineer will be responsible for the resolution and prevention of Chassis Quality issues including Warranty - C/1000 and EPUS, JD Power -- IQS and VDS, CQI and Consumers Report. The key responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams in the root cause, containment, corrective action, and service action for quality/warranty issues, analyzing prioritized warranty transmittal data to ensure the team is focused on the top problems, bridging communications between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Purchasing to ensure the correct expertise is engaged in the resolution process, and performing the read-across to ensure other vehicle lines and assembly plants are aligned. The candidate should be capable to communicate and present to all level of management. The candidate will also be responsible for communicating lessons learned so they can be incorporated into DFMEAs, DVP&R AMPS, and design practices. The position also includes analyzing warranty data and travel to dealerships, assembly plants and suppliers to drive improvement in warranty and customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • A minimum of 5 years of automotive experience
  • Complex problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Strong root cause analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Reactive Black Belt
  • Certified Green Belt
  • Chassis experience (brakes, wheels, tires, steering, suspension, alignment, shifters)
  • Assembly plant experience
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and program management skills
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority
  • Demonstrates initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations
