The Asset Manager is responsible for the sale, relocation or disposal of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles capital assets. This position works with the finance community to ensure compliance to governing regulations and company policies as well as coordinates with the operating units (plants, manufacturing engineering, product development, marketing, etc.) to identify asset changes, understand timing and financial requirements, promote reuse of assets and assist in the timely processing of the movement of assets. The person in this position manages the supplier community involved in the purchase of assets and the associated documentation required for those transactions. In addition, the Asset Manager will manage the MARUM (Manufacturing Asset ReUse Management) System including training the user community. This system provides a web based tool to effectively and efficiently identify, evaluate and re-use (transfer) or scrap surplus corporate assets. Asset Specialists in manufacturing engineering have been assigned to help manage the MARUM system for their respective functional areas.

The Asset Manager, in coordination with the Specialists, conducts Quarter 1 audits of all NAFTA Manufacturing locations, reports the results to leadership to recommend strategic decisions of assets and manages, also in coordination with the Specialists, the transfer, sale and disposal processes for assets. This position also reviews and approves the ARRS Lotus Notes Disposal and Projects Requests for compliance to policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Finance
  • 10+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Finance or equivalent
  • Understanding of manufacturing production equipment and processes and potential reapplication in the organization
  • Understanding and experience using project management methodologies and practices
  • Understanding of asset regulations, policies and procedures (Sarbanes-Oxley)
  • Understanding of the process to maintain asset ledgers at the operating locations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability among multiple functions at all levels of the organizations
  • Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing (WCM)preventive and predictive maintenance concepts
  • Available to travel within NAFTA and work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree 
  • Project management and/or finance experience desired
  • Experience creating presentations and presenting to leadership
