Advanced Vehicle Electrification Integration Engineer (Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) Job, Auburn Hills, MI

The Advanced Vehicle Electrification Integration Engineer is responsible for the system integration of the next generation Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Responsibilities will include but not limited to: defining the high voltage battery functional objectives, determining range and sizing, packaging high/low voltage batteries, electronic modules and wiring, and developing structural systems/approaches for battery protection. The engineer should be familiar with manufacturing and assembly processes; and have the proven ability to monitor timelines, project deliverables, cross platform activities, and lead technical reviews with electrical propulsion design and development engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Eight years of engineering experience
  • Experience in electrified vehicle development and systems integration
  • Data analysis and ability to work and lead in a cross functional team environment
  • Fluent in use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • DFSS Green/Black Belt
  • Experience in advance concept integration developing PHEV and BEV charging systems and components
  • Structures design experience, knowledge of high strength material and aluminum casting process and fastening methods
  • Working knowledge of advance manufacturing processes GD&T requirements
  • Ability to interpret CAE analysis and develop feasible underbody structural design proposals
  • Proficient in Team Center and Vis Pro
