The FCA Quality organization is currently seeking a solutions-oriented Advanced Quality Engineer -- Infotainment to join the Quality team at the FCA US Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The Advanced Quality Engineer -- Infotainment ensures all future Uconnect Infotainment systems will meet customer expectations and milestone requirements. The candidate must have proven track record for developing and executing standardization of quality enablers. The automotive infotainment space is ever changing and requires a vast skill set to develop the best products. The candidate will collaborate with key business partners like Engineering, Human Machine Interface, Product Design Office, Quality and Product Planning to define new features from concepts to reality. The team member is responsible for guiding the best quality designs to maintain the 3rd party accolades. The Quality Engineer expert must be a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution of vehicle quality issues. The selected individual will have experience managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the Audio/Connectivity/Entertainment/Navigation engineering, qualification and quality landscape and present outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Point of contact for Uconnect Product Development Quality Organization
  • Point of contact for all product strategic improvement plan
  • Provide creative thinking to the analysis of data and the identification of new opportunities
  • Implementing lessons learned in new Uconnect platforms using CQI and 3rd party metrics
  • Negotiate new and improve features with Planning organizations and stake holders
  • Develop and Support business cases with partners
  • Creative solutions for Voice Recognition and Device Connections
  • Collaborate with HMI and PDO on the definition of new features
  • Monitor requirement definition and supplier Q&A activities
  • Improve software delivery state for Plywood buck. I.e. greater feature completion, stable software
  • Define metrics to monitor and track progression

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience in Automotive, Computer, or Cellular industries
  • Computer literate required (i.e. Outlook Mail, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent data analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quality and or Infotainment experience is preferred
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus
