Organized into cross-functional teams, it's a unique FCA division consisting of manufacturing, engineering and supplier quality department members who work together to solve product quality issues and reduce warranty claims. The Quality organization is currently seeking a highly skilled, solutions-oriented Senior Manager-Quality Center Manager to join the Quality team at FCA Canada's Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario. The Senior Manager-Quality Center Manager is the single point quality interface for all manufacturing processes at Windsor Assembly Plant. This role serves as the lead for providing quality control on production processes and products through the analysis of equipment capabilities; reject rates, planned maintenance, and control plans.
The selected individual will have experience in managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape. The Senior Manager-Quality Center Manager must have high-energy, be a hands-on individual with strength of convictions - a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style and demeanor, effectively sell ideas and solutions to others; have a commitment and dedication in delivering a premier product to the consumer; exhibit a willingness to do things differently and consistently translate ideas into actions that deliver results; possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment; and by nature be a risk-taker and have a high level of ambition. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee day-to-day quality control and quality audit activities within the plant
  • Monitor key quality indicators and lead root cause analysis for target achievement
  • Lead the cross implementation of best practices and lessons learned on similar products and processes
  • Lead safe launch planning for new programs
  • Serve as the World Class Manufacturing Quality Lead
  • Plan, prioritize, set goals and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment
  • Display effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
  • Establish partnerships both internally and externally and to influence without direct authority
  • Represent the "Voice of the Customer" to the platform teams
  • Drive team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to delivering results and champion achievements 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical Engineering degree
  • Minimum 10 years of automotive engineering experience with 5 years in Manufacturing and/or Quality Control
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build solid partnerships both internally and externally
  • Capable of shaping a clear strategic vision and effectively communicating that vision
  • Expertise in planning, prioritizing, and goal setting including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency, create detailed action plans, and organize schedules, people and tasks
  • Experience working in a lean/flat organization with cross functional skills
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical degree highly desirable
  • WCM experience
  • Engineering or Vehicle Development
